Packout Mounting Cleats
Create a DIY mounting location for Milwaukee Packout
These cleats are an affordable addition to your Weihe Racking System Shelves. These cleats are not recommended for DIY dollies.
Depending on your application and the size of boxes, there are two variants of these mounting cleats-
Light-Duty Cleats: Adequate for smaller boxes that would benefit from “clicking” onto a shelf. If the box has a front handle, it can also be used to open and close the drawer slide.
Medium-Duty Cleats: Better for larger/heavier boxes. These cleats are longer, so they engage more of the “Feet” on the bottom of the Packout and reduce the boxes tipping if tilted forward.
With these kits, you can screw up to 3 cleats per shelf. This is compatible with two half-width boxes or one full-width box.
When attached to 16inch drawers slides some lids(black) may not open to 90°+. For these situations unlatch box, slide forward, grab items, close lid, and push drawer in until box latches into place.
18 inch drawer slides will allow all lids to be opened to 90°+ and allow for static handles to stick out on above drawer slides.
Install Guide:
Push the Mounting cleats into the latching area under the box
Place the box where you want it
Mark the locations of the mounting brackets
Disconnect the box from the brackets
Line up the cleats with your markings and then fasten them to the flat surface
When attaching to a 3/4inch board 1 1-inch screws are recommended: Example of screws
The Center cleat should be centered on your board- then the outer cleats should be ~5 inches hole to hole from the center latch to outer latch. The outer latch holes should be ~10 inches apart.
